Let's Clean Up Our City Parks & Green Spaces for the Summer Days Ahead

This is a great opportunity to get the whole family involved, enjoy being outdoors and do something great for the environment.   With sunshine and green grass here at last, we happily look forward to a clean-up of our parks and green spaces from winter litter.  Roots and Branches, invites you to join them on Saturday, May 6th from 9:00 to noon at Regner Park Pavilion for our spring Cleanup Greenup Campaign.  This annual event, sponsored by Modern Woodmen of America, is the city’s largest clean-up campaign.

The Gold Can is back!!!  But, this year we will collect your raffle ticket for a chance to win a $25 cash prize.  Every clean-up volunteer will get a raffle ticket and a chance to win.  If you are picking up your supplies and meeting your group at another park, you can get your groups raffle tickets then – also if you pick up supplies at the office.

Grab your friends; invite your youth group, community group, business, students or family to join the city-wide effort to clean up litter in our parks and green spaces this spring.  This is a great time to spruce up our city for summer and enjoy a cup of coffee or hot chocolate from Dunn Bros. Coffee.   (Students – get your volunteer hours.)

You can sign up in advance to be assigned a certain park or area, or just come to the Regner Park Pavilion (Park Avenue entrance) on May 6th to get trash bags and designated area to clean up.  The City Public Works Department and Advance Disposal Services provide pick up and disposal of all garbage collected.  Last year nearly 2,000 pounds of trash and recyclables were collected.

For pre-registration call Roots and Branches at 335-5083, sign up on the web at www.rootsbranches.org or email rootsandbranches@ci.west-bend.wi.us. We hope to see you there!
